Arcadia Brings the Beauty of the Indian Ocean and the Vanilla Islands to Its World Cruise Passengers with Stops in Réunion and Mauritius

The journey began with the ship’s first stops in Portugal, where it visited the iconic cities of Lisbon and Funchal. Lisbon, with its rich historical heritage, is a city that effortlessly blends tradition and modernity, from the majestic Tower of Belém to its lively café culture. Funchal, located on Madeira Island, welcomed guests with its breathtaking landscapes, terraced hillsides, and the renowned Monte Palace, creating the perfect start to this grand world voyage.

Following its time in Portugal, the Arcadia sailed to the Canary Islands, with a memorable visit to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This vibrant city is known for its lively atmosphere, stunning architecture, and beautiful beaches. The ship then continued to the Cape Verde archipelago, where it made stops in Mindelo and Praia. Cape Verde’s blend of African, Portuguese, and Caribbean influences provides an exciting cultural mix, with each island offering its own unique charm, from the colonial streets of Mindelo to Praia’s bustling markets and picturesque coastline.

Continuing the journey toward Australia and New Zealand, the Arcadia visited several incredible Indian Ocean destinations, including Réunion and Mauritius. Réunion Island, a French overseas region, entices with its dramatic volcanic landscapes, lush rainforests, and captivating waterfalls. Mauritius, a tropical paradise known for its clear turquoise waters, coral reefs, and white-sand beaches, is a perfect destination for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure.

From New Zealand, the ship continued its voyage to the South Pacific, visiting Suva and Lautoka in Fiji. These tropical islands are renowned for their crystal-clear waters, stunning coral reefs, and warm Fijian hospitality. After basking in the beauty of the South Pacific, the Arcadia headed toward Hawaii and the West Coast of North America. Honolulu, with its famous beaches and rich cultural heritage, was the first stop, followed by visits to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Manzanillo. The stunning vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge and the sunny shores of Southern California provided the perfect backdrop for the journey, with a memorable transit through the Panama Canal offering a glimpse of one of the world’s most iconic engineering marvels.

As the Arcadia made its way back to Europe, it made stops in several beautiful Caribbean and Atlantic destinations, including Willemstad in Curaçao, Bridgetown in Barbados, and Ponta Delgada in the Azores. These locations are known for their pristine beaches, colorful colonial architecture, and rich natural beauty. The voyage is set to conclude in Southampton on April 15, 2026, marking the end of an extraordinary 100-night adventure.

Built in 2005 and recently refurbished in 2024 as part of a modernization project, the Arcadia boasts luxurious amenities, spacious interiors, and state-of-the-art facilities. The 83,000-ton ship, with a capacity of 1,968 passengers, is designed to offer a truly world-class cruising experience. The extensive refurbishment ensures that guests will enjoy the finest in comfort and style as they embark on this epic journey, making it an unforgettable way to explore the world’s most sought-after destinations.
